Author Profile

Manabu Tauchi
Author, Representative of "Okane no Mukou Kenkyujo"

Born in 1978, he graduated from the University of Tokyo with a bachelor's degree in engineering. Completed a master's degree at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology of the same university.
In 2003, he joined Goldman Sachs Japan Co. For the next 16 years, he traded Japanese government bonds, yen interest rate derivatives, long-term foreign exchange, etc. He was also involved in the Bank of Japan's interest rate index reform. He retired from Goldman Sachs in 2019.
He is the author of "There Are People on the Other Side of Money" (Diamond Inc.), a social studies textbook for high school students, "Public" (co-author, Kyoiku Tosho), and "New Money Stuff You Need to Know from Age 10" (supervisor, Natsumesha), among others.
As a social and financial educator, he also gives lectures on money to students and adults.
