Author Profile

Akira Kojima

Akira Kojima is a former senior managing editor and chief editorial writer at Nikkei Inc. and served as a trustee and visiting professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies until March 2023.
He was born in Yokohama in 1942. After graduating from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University, he joined Nikkei Inc. He became a director and chief editorial writer in 1997, a director and senior managing director in 2003, and chairman of the Japan Center for Economic Research in 2004.
He has also served as a professor at Keio University (Graduate School of Commerce) and as a member of the Council for Gender Equality Cabinet Office.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Center for the Promotion of International Economic Cooperation (CIPEC) and as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the International Committee of the Honda Foundation.
